taylor and i got back from a quick visit to chicago yesterday evening
{promise to add pics soon}
after getting away for a bit i’m always inspired and refreshed
being in a new place, visiting museums, seeing the sites and playing like a chi town ‘local’ for the weekend
inspires me (and challenges me) to see and do more things in my home city
this morning i hopped on the computer to research and plan our next adventures in big D
DO & listen in this case
PATIO SESSIONS / BAREFOOT AT THE BELMONT
both of these dreamy sunset activities make me long for a refreshing beverage while
laying on a cozy blanket on the lawn in the company of good friends
SEE
CHIHULY NIGHTS at the dallas arboretum / ERNESTO NETO at nasher scultpture center
i cannot wait to see chihuly at the dallas arboretum
taylor and i danced our first dance under the glow of chihuly sculptures at our wedding reception at the DMA
so needless to say the works of chihuly hold a special place in my heart
neto’s work kink was created expressly for the nasher scultpture center
‘installations allow visitors to his environments to escape the floor of the gallery and ascend into the work’
interactive AND a beautiful work of art- it doesn’t get any better than that?!
EAT & drink
i don’t know about you but for the moment i’m over fine dining
maybe it’s the heat but any place i can where flip flops and a sundress is my kind of cool
the taco stop has been on my list for some time now
and foundry looks (and sounds like from the multiple recommendations from friends who have visited)
like the perfect place to grab a drink on the patio with friends for a chill evening
MAKE
DIY SAND TERRARIUM / RELIEF PRINTING class at oil and cotton
kelly’s fabulous DIY tutorial has me itching to create a sand terrarium as soon as possible
and save the date for tuesday july 10th- i’m pumped to be teaching a relief printing class at oil and cotton
focusing primarily on printing on fabrics
we will be creating fabrics for framing, textiles for your home and more!!!
what’s on your current list to do, see, eat and make?

Love all of these fun ideas! Barefoot at the Belmont looks awesome, and I can’t wait for our Chihuly date next week. The Nasher exhibit looks fab. And let me know when you make a sand terrarium – I’m so in! Also, so fun that you’re teaching another class at Oil and Cotton!
thanks rachel- knew you would be game for more out and about adventures in dallas!
